Energy Talk Radio program launched
The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has launched an interactive radio program called Energy Talk which will be aired on six radio stations.
The program will be broadcast on Spot FM at 0707hrs, Star FM at 0735hrs and ZiFM at 1327hrs every Thursday until 25 August 2016.
Some of the issues which will be discussed include safe use of all energy forms, consumer rights and responsibilities, investment opportunities, harnessing renewable energy among others.
The program will also be presented in Shona, Ndebele, Venda and Shangani on Radio Zimbabwe and National FM.
Program schedules for Radio Zimbabwe, Power FM and National FM are being finalised.
Some of the presenters of Energy Talk include Nicola Ndoro on Star FM, Tawanda Gundhlanga on Spot FM and Patience Musa of ZiFM.
ZERA Chief Executive Officer Engineer Gloria Magombo said Energy Talk is meant to close the gap between suppliers of energy, policy makers and consumers.
“The program is set to educate, inform and empower consumers to use energy efficiently and to make use of renewable and alternative sources of energy that are available” said Eng. Magombo.
“We want consumers to take advantage of the natural energy resources such as the sun for solar energy and the abundant waste which can be converted into biogas which is clean, renewable and sustainable”, said Eng. Magombo.
Listeners are challenged to share their expectations and to also propose what they want to hear know, understand and appreciate with respect to energy in Zimbabwe.
“ZERA is there to serve energy consumers and Energy Talk is a listeners’ program. Let us discuss energy”, said Eng. Magombo.
